PURPLE HAZE

Purple haze in the sky,

Blanketing the world

In diamond studded velvet glow.

The tender breeze caresses,

Teasing and erasing the stress

The sweaty and stifling sun

Brought to the blue green world.

Fireflies flicker in the dark

On and off like headlights

Of speeding cars on highways.

The music filters from growling speakers

Seeping into every pore,

Saturating the blood,

Making every pain ease

As he drags more of the weed.

The car ran into the ravine

And he was later found,

Staring sightless eyes

At the purple haze of velvet sky

Studded with bright diamonds.
