LOVE ASTRAY
A slice of lemon shaped moon
Squeezed into the blue gray sky,
Eyeing the depressed sun; head bowed.
Squeezed into the blue gray sky,
Eyeing the depressed sun; head bowed.
A flicker of starlight
Diamonds on velvet hair,
Hanging down her back;
The moon, I mean.
Woven until morn,
Waiting for her darling sun,
Waiting and waning and wasting away.
Diamonds on velvet hair,
Hanging down her back;
The moon, I mean.
Woven until morn,
Waiting for her darling sun,
Waiting and waning and wasting away.
Brilliant smiling sun,
Decked in liquid golden rays,
Throwing golden motes of dust
Like bubbles of gold dust
Through the dawn sky,
Towards the wasted slice of lemon shaped moon.
Decked in liquid golden rays,
Throwing golden motes of dust
Like bubbles of gold dust
Through the dawn sky,
Towards the wasted slice of lemon shaped moon.
He sighs; the sun, I must say;
He looks again and sighs.
Then he looks down
And a golden warm smile
Caresses the blue skies.
She always waits; ever patient
She always waits.
"Mother earth, I am come."
He looks again and sighs.
Then he looks down
And a golden warm smile
Caresses the blue skies.
She always waits; ever patient
She always waits.
"Mother earth, I am come."
